Customize content-parsing rules: For users of our browser extension, the URL of the page you are visiting is used to fetch parsing instructions from our backend. These instructions help our extension determine what content to read aloud (for example, the main article body) and what page elements to ignore (such as navigation menus or advertisements).
Analyze aggregated, anonymized usage data: We may examine aggregated statistics about the sites our users visit most frequently through the extension. If we discover that many people visit a particular website, we will test how the extension parses that site. When parsing performance is poor, we update our configuration so that the site reads better for everyone. We do this research on aggregated, anonymized data and do not maintain individual browsing histories.
